She took a quick look behind her, she saw nothing. She could still hear the blood-curdling screeches of the monsters behind. She kept running, there was no turning back now, she thought of the man she had seen getting mauled. All she could think about was the fact that she could be next. Not thinking she accidentally tripped while not watching where she was going. She scrambled to get to her feet, thinking the monsters were right behind her. She had dropped her flashlight when she fell and the glass had cracked. She couldn’t see clearly now because all that was coming from her flashlight was a few slivers of light. She tried to make out her path ahead but she accidentally turned down a side alley. She kept running without looking back when suddenly she came to a dead stop. She started to feel sick to her stomach when she saw the mangled body of the man she had seen earlier. No one would have been able to make out his face, it was so badly mangled, but she did for sure. She couldn’t stop staring at him when suddenly, a group of the monsters emerged from behind a trash can where they were scavenging for food. They caught a quick glance of her and they were on the attack. She knew that these were her final moments. She tried her best to escape but they had closed off all possible exits. The monsters moved closer and finally attacked. The body of Mary Goldfish has not yet been discovered.

          Creative writing #2
Mark Jacobs was just a boy living in the town of L.A. His 17th birthday had just passed and he was finally feeling like a grown up. His shoulders had broadened, and he had finally hit his last growth spurt. ‘Mark hurry up! You’re going to be late for school!’ his mom yelled down the stairs. In a panic he quickly put on his favourite t-shirt and a pair of kaki’s, brushed his teeth and fixed his brown hair. He raced up the stairs and missing breakfast for the second time this week, he jumped into his black ford focus. As he drove away he heard the sad yelps of his dog John. On his way to school he passed the 7-11 where he worked part time. Dreading working he turned his head and cringed at the thought. He was almost at the end of his junior year and all he could hope for was for it to end so he could do his two favourite things during the summer, hockey and golf. He pulled into the school parking lot and parked in his parking space number 231. Getting out of his car he saw his best friend Bob and he said that they had a substitute for first period English. ‘Thank goodness I’m exhausted’. He replied in relief. The two boys walked together to class and what awaited them was another long day of boring teachers and cramped hands from all the note writing.

My Bedroom

When you first walk into the fortress that I call my bedroom, your eyes quickly adjusted to the softness of the mocha brown walls. You start to feel sleepy from the warmth so you look and see my bed with black sheets soft like a sheep’s wool.  On your way to the bed you feel the soft carpet massaging your feet as you walk. You lie down and see the wooden wardrobe in front of the bed. To the right you notice the family pictures and book in the eggshell white bookshelf. You start to yawn and shut your eyes to the quite sounds of my sisters TV down the hallway. The smell of fresh laundry is pulling you deeper into your slumber but the piercing smell of dirty gym clothes is dancing around in the back of your head like a stink demon. Now in my bed where you lie, dreaming of all the sugar plum pie. When you wake to a breakfast of eggs, you feel a rush of happiness through your legs.

blog post 5

One connection between the book 'The Disappearing Floor' and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is in my book, Joe and Franks dad did not want them to go ahead and investigate the mystery, and wait for him to get back, but instead they disobeyed their dad and tried to investigate and solve the mystery be themselves. At the time their dad was in Chicago investigating an anonymous tip that Noel Strang would be making a jewel heist that night. In a midsummer night’s dream Hermia’s dad told her that she could not see Lysander and she would have to marry Demetrious. Hermia then disobeyed her dad and is planning on sneaking away to be with and marry Lysander. This is a similarity because both Hermia and the Hardy boys are going to disobey their parents and do something they’re not supposed to do. Another example of a similarity is in a midsummer night’s dream, there is a lot of magic and in the hardy boys, a scientist is hired to create a weapon for Noel. This weapon that he created makes the victims freeze solid in their tracks. Not freezing as in ice but in the sense that they are knocked out but stiff, and after they wake up they don’t ember anything. This is kind of magical because nothing we know of in the real world can do these things or has the power to freeze someone. In the two books there are also many differences. For example, in a midsummer night’s dream, Hermia’s father, Egeus, is very strict with his daughter and will not tolerate her not doing what he says. While in the hardy boys, their dad, Fenton, is much easier going and doesn’t mind at times if his boys disobey him to do the right thing. Yeah.

Spring Break!

For my spring break my plans are to kick it with friends, watch TV and listen to some quality music. I’m doing this because I’ve been in school for a while now and quite frankly, I need a break. So I’m planning to either have people over to my house of go to their house. Even going to places like to movies or just chilling at the local teen watering hole. I’m planning on watching TV for those times when I’m bored with nothing got do except sit on the couch and watch TV.  I plan to watch shows such as, That 70’s Show, The Big Bang Theory and Family Guy. Also I plan to listen to some actually good music. Not that Katy Perry and Lady Gaga stuff that they play on the radio. My sister and my mom think it’s great music but I think it’s just bad. Some of the bands and music I will be listening to are, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Foo Fighters and the Black Keys. I like their music because it’s really easy to listen to, the beats are really good and it’s just quality music overall.  I’m most looking forward to hanging out with friends. This is because I really didn’t get a lot of time to hang out with my friends between school work, hockey and just extra-curricular activities. So just hanging out with them will be really fun. I guess you could say I see them every day at lunch or something but it’s not the same because as when your out of school because you’re not talking about school or homework. You can just unwind and talk about whatever you want and do whatever you want. This is what I will be doing over my spring break. I sure hope it warms up soon!

This picture represents what I will be doing over my spring break because the black keys are one of the bands I will be listening to and will make up most of my time during spring break. The Picture I the album cover for the Black Keys album entitled ‘El Camino’. My favourite songs on this album are ‘Gold on the Ceiling’, ‘Dead and Gone’, and ‘Nova Baby’. These songs are my favourite because they have that groove to them that just makes you want to listen to them over and over again. This also represents my spring break because I love music and I also play the drums so this album is awesome because the beats are great to play along to and my spring break will be a lot of listening to musing but also playing drums to this very album. This album came out in 2011 and helped the black keys win the Grammy for best alternative rock album. This album is one of my favourite albums by the Black Keys In my opinion and I listen to it constantly because I just can’t get enough of it and I never get tired of it. Also the music on the album also represents me hanging out with friends because the Black Keys are also very popular throughout my group of friends. They love this album as much as I do and I’m pretty sure that when we are hanging out with them we will be listening to this music because it’s just so good.

Blog #1

Currently, I’m reading 'The Disappearing Floor' in the Hardy Boys series. So far in the book, the plot is that the boys, Joe and Frank Hardy are on the case of a well-known jewel thief named Strang. They try to investigate the thief but his accomplices try to sabotage there boat by putting some kind of explosives into the engine compartment of under the bow of their boat. later when their boat is being fixed they take their convertible and drive up to the abandoned mansion where they believe Strang is hiding out only to find a ghostly figure that leads them through some trees so they trip some sort of an alarm causing some of Strang men to chase them back to their convertible and away from the mansion. Except for the fact that Joe, while they were sitting in the bushes watching the ghostly figure, found some kind of a brass coin with the same symbol as the one they found at the strange tile formation that they found at the top of a hiking trail. Their dad, Fenton Hardy, is a world renowned detective who is also on the Strang case. He got a tip where Strang was going to strike next so he flew out to Long Island. This was obviously Strangs plan because well he was in Long Island he committed a huge jewel robbery in Chicago which was said to be worth $100,000. Now the Hardy boys are trying to figure out where Strang is going to strike next and also how to get into that mansion to look for clues.

All About Me

To start, I'm just 15 and i love to play hockey. It's a great sport with the fast pace and the all of a sudden smack of an incoming body check. My favourite book, well I can’t just choose one. It would have to be the entire Hardy Boys series of mystery stories. They're great book packed full of adventure and suspense if the boys are going to catch the crook of get caught and get into serious trouble. I play the drums outside of school and I’m currently playing percussion in the concert band. I've been playing drums since like 6th grade but I’ve been taking lessons since grade 7. That was also the year that I switched over from trumpet to percussion. It’s been a wild ride since I started playing but now it’s become harder than ever since I got into grade 9. Mr. Edwards has me playing mallets and its super hard. Anyways, it’s been great fun and imp really enjoying it. My hobbies are of course hockey and drums, but also I sport shoot in a sport called skeet. You go around through 8 stations trying to hit the clay pigeons at each station. It's great fun and if you’re not very good at it or just starting it's a challenge. I also love listening to music; my favorite bands right now are the Foo Fighters and The Black Keys. They make great music and i love to listen to the smooth grooves of the Black Keys and the solid rock of the Foo Fighters. To sum up my post, i like to play hockey and listen to some good tunes :)
